Blackjack is one of the most popular card games in the world. It is also known in other names such as Pontoon or twenty-one. The name "twenty-one" pretty much tells the object of the game - to score a total point of 21 by matching an ace (11 or 1) and faces (10). Blackjack is very popular because of the mix of luck and skill that it has managed to blend in the course of the game to win. card counting, or keeping track of the cards since the last shuffle, is the key of winning your Blackjack.

Normally, blackjack favors the dealer or the house, but this does not mean that there is no way to beat them. The key is to know when and how to place your bet, and the strategy is to know some lessons in probability and card counting.

We know that a normal (and clean) deck consists of 52 cards. Each number card has the probability of being drawn four times out of 52 (one each for aces, clubs, hearts, or diamonds). Hence, it is also equal to one out of 13. To be precise, the probability of drawing ace in the first draw is 4:52. As long as the ace has not yet been drawn, the denominator number reduces, and the probability of you getting it increases. Hence, basically, you just have to know when that probability is high to give your best bet.

Here, we provide a simple system for you to use and mentally push your way to blackjack stardom. This counting strategy is called the "plus or minus" system.

In this system, a value of -1, 0, +1 is assigned to each card. Cards 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 are assigned a positive one value; cards 7,8,9 are assigned the value of 0; and face cards and 10 are assigned the value of negative one. You have to keep tract and count the cards drawn with their assigned values. You have a higher advantage if in your count you have a positive number. In that case, you may bet high. If you have a negative number in your count, then you must bet low.

You see, it is that simple. This basic technique may be mastered and various permutations may also be made for several other blackjack techniques. The thing is, you just play the game. And like any other game, you have the chance to master it.
