Online casino games are legal in New Jersey and New York

According to the DoJ on the Wire Act, online gambling is now legal in New Jersey and New York.

According to analyst Harry Curtis, other US states will be soon legalizing online gambling and tap a new source of tax revenues.

Furthermore, Curtis revealed that Nevada, Illinois and California could be the next states to legalize online gambling and have live online poker games.

The legalization of online gambling in these two states has come from DoJ, which found that the Interstate Wire Act from 1961 which has been keeping online gambling away, only refers to sports betting.

Basing on this, US states can now open their gates for online gambling and offer online poker through their own lottery systems, without any federal involvement, as analyst Roger Gros from Global Gaming Business stated.

In 2011, New Jersey has collected $2.6 billion from lottery tickets and is expected to take up bills from online poker and other gamins in the coming months.
